offered by Energy Design Resources as a distance learning course over the Internet. The class is designed for engineers,
architects, and building operators. It provides useful professional level education on high
performance lighting for the workplace, especially offices, retail, and industrial buildings.
Students will learn about lighting issues, technologies, and applications, with special consideration
given to California energy codes and efficiency programs.
The class covers lighting issues, technologies, and applications.
The lessons use animated illustrations and color images in MS PowerPoint presentations. Internet resources are used as texts.
The 'Advanced Lighting Guidelines: 2003 Edition' is the official reference
text for this course and is available online in a portable document format (PDF). The goal of the Guidelines
is to provide a comprehensive, regularly updated document that will remain useful to lighting decision-makers
and that will encourage appropriate practice for lighting design in buildings.
