in
the U.S. can save $130 billion by 2010 if they take advantage of
currently available, low-cost, energy-efficiency opportunities.
Most businesses use energy inefficiently, which results in higher
energy bills than necessary. By becoming more energy efficient,
these organizations can save energy and thus reduce their energy
costs while preventing pollution. To support this drive toward
building energy efficiency, the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) has established the ENERGY STAR BuildingsSM
Program.
EDR E-News recently spoke with members of the ENERGY STAR
Buildings team to find out more about the program and the bottom
line advantages of improving energy performance for building
owners-and for architects, too.
