This Commission reviews and publishes state building standards
(including Title 24, which are available at libraries throughout
the state).
The site explains where professionals can view or purchase
California building codes. It also features a newsletter and
information about ongoing
building-industry issues in the state.
California Energy Commission (CEC), Energy
Efficiency Division
The California Energy Commission regulates energy efficiency in
commercial buildings. On this site you'll find information about Title 24,
Part 6: California Energy Efficiency Standards for
Residential and Nonresidential Buildings. This code
specifies minimum energy and equipment requirements for new
buildings.
This site offers information on CEC programs and the full text of
several reports, requests for proposals (RFPs), and other
documents. It also features a list of unitary HVAC equipment (up to
65,000 Btuh) that exceed state standards by at least 15
percent.
Pacific Energy
Center
This site is provided by Pacific Gas & Electric Co.
(PG&E). Largely focused on central and northern California, it
offers a variety of resources such as educational programs, design
and measurement tools, technical advice, and energy information. It
also offers several software tools for analyzing chillers and
chilled water systems.
